Managing Director's Statement

Working together in partnership
Since its establishment in 1983, Active has grown to become a significant partner to many customers, delivering quality wholesale electronic products to hundreds of customers in the electronic/electrical industry throughout Australasia. Customers range from well-known global corporations to emerging enterprises.

Consultative and responsive
Over the years we have built a loyal base of long-term customers and we understand their requirements. We excel at solving difficult and complex supply problems, whether it is one component only, or a complete package involving multiple parts or additional processing. The final solution may incorporate many different components, or it may need to be shipped to multiple locations around the globe. Our logistics centre in Hong Kong makes this possible.

We can also take care of all your off-the-shelf parts, as well as competitively sourcing standard electronic components.

Dedicated service team
Our success is due to a team of people who are passionate and excited about what they do. It’s also why the Active team has won so many awards for consistently exceeding customer expectations. We are very responsive, dealing with any issues with speed and attention. We offer every customer a dedicated account manager you can rely on. With two to three people per team, we have multiple points of contact to offer wraparound support for our customers. We keep in very regular contact, and do our best to ensure that distance is not an issue by using video conferencing. Many members of our team of talented, loyal and stable staff have been with the business for over fifteen years. Our company culture is based on caring, responsibility, integrity and honesty.

Having started in the warehouse packing goods, James hasofficially stepped into the role of CEO at Active and he is now running ActiveAsia. Based in Active’s Hong Kong office, James is responsible forstrategically sourcing products, developing our supplier relationships, andensuring that our offerings are the best quality and value.

Rob Mackley

Rob founded Active back in 1983 when he realised he could do a much better job serving the electronics industry than his former employer. Over the years Rob has led Active to become a significant supplier to the Australasia electronics industry. This has been achieved by providing customer service excellence, supply chain efficiency and competitive pricing. After more than 38 years as the founder and CEO of Active, Rob has stepped down to the role of Director, with an ambassadorial focus.

Noor brings to Active a unique mix of technical product and engineering knowledge, diverse commercial skills and broad experience. She delivers insightful leadership across the business, motivating her team to optimise their responsiveness to our customers. She gained a degree in electrical and electronic engineering with first-class honours from the University of Auckland.

Active has a strong presence in Australasia and in Asia, enabling us to get your products where they need to be in the quickest possible time. We offer global reach with our distribution systems. Freight enters our warehouses on a daily basis from all over the world, ensuring we meet our customers’ delivery targets on time and in full.
